Good value, slow customer service

We booked a beachfront resort in Florida for a week. The rates were definitely better than some other sites for a similar place. Finding the resort and booking a three bedroom suite was easy enough. The property itself was great, exactly what we needed for a larger group. My only real gripe was when I had a question about pet friendly rentals before booking; I tried calling and the wait time was a bit long. Eventually, I just found the answer in the FAQ section on their site. So, good value and good selection of resorts, but customer service could be faster. Everything else, from booking to the stay, went smoothly.

Always a smooth booking

Booked a two bedroom suite for Spring Break like I usually do. The process was just as straightforward as my previous bookings. Found a great rate for a resort in Orlando. The confirmation came quick. Never had an issue with them. It's why I keep coming back.

Decent stay, some small hiccups

I rented a one bedroom suite for a mountain cabin in Colorado. The booking itself was pretty smooth online; I found the search filters helpful for narrowing down options. The price was competitive for what I got. Confirmation came through quickly after I paid. Check-in at the resort was fine, no surprises there. The cabin itself was mostly as described, clean enough, and the kitchen was equipped with what we needed for basic cooking. However, I did try to call customer service about an early check-in possibility, and I was on hold for a bit longer than I expected, probably around 15 minutes. They were polite when I finally got through, but it wasn't a quick call. Delivery of information was good, everything was clear on the booking email. It wasn't perfect, but still a solid option for vacation rentals.

Family trip was good

We booked a family suite with kitchen for a weekend getaway. It was pretty easy to find something that fit us. The website was simple enough to use, didn't have to jump through hoops. Ended up with a nice place, everyone had their own space. Overall, a good experience.

Are these places actually nice? Like, is it basically just a hotel room or more like a proper apartment? Wondering about the kitchen situation.

W William Perez 2 weeks ago
They're more like condos or apartments. Most of the ones I've stayed at had full kitchens, super handy for saving money on food. Check the specific listing though, some might just have kitchenettes.

Definitely not just a hotel room. My family always books them for the space and having a separate living area. Kitchens are usually stocked with basic pots and pans.

Can you combine promo codes on Extra Holidays? Got a military discount but also saw a Black Friday deal coming up.

D Danielle Moore 1 week ago
Nah, I tried that before, doesn't work. Most of their promos explicitly say you can't stack 'em. It's usually one or the other.

Yeah, pretty sure you can only use one code at a time. It's usually a better bet to go with whatever gives you the bigger percentage off.

I'm looking at a spot in Orlando for next month. How long does it usually take to confirm a booking and get all the details? Need to make sure I have everything before I fly out.

R Rachel Hall 3 weeks ago
It's pretty quick. Once you pay, you usually get an email confirmation almost instantly with all the check-in info and resort details. I've never had to wait more than an hour or two.

Yeah, shouldn't be an issue. They're part of Wyndham, so it's a legit system. You'll get your booking confirmation pretty fast, just make sure to check your spam folder too.

How do these compare to something like VRBO? Is it basically the same thing or totally different vibe?

D Donna G. 3 weeks ago
It's kind of similar in that you're getting a whole unit, but Extra Holidays is specifically Wyndham resorts. So it's more consistent, like you know what you're generally getting in terms of amenities and service compared to individual owners on VRBO.

I like Extra Holidays better for families sometimes because it feels more resort-y, with pools and activities. VRBO can be hit or miss depending on the host. Plus, the kitchens are usually standard across Extra Holidays.

Hey guys, thinking of booking a suite through Extra Holidays for spring break. Do they actually have good discounts or is it all just meh?

B Brittany Torres 1 month ago
Yeah, they do! I've seen them run pretty solid seasonal sales, like 30-50% off during certain times. Got a sweet deal for a mountain cabin last winter.

They have a bunch of specific discounts too, like for military or AAA if you qualify. Just look around on their site.
